Proactive IT Security at Cephas Care

Cephas Care in Suffolk supports children, young people, and adults with care needs to live life the way they want to. They care for hundreds of vulnerable people through their supported housing and homecare services.

When Cephas Care approached us in July 2019, they were keen to strengthen their IT security to offer maximum protection against cyberattacks.
Given the nature of their business and how seriously they take the safeguarding of personal and sensitive data, they needed a robust security solution that could protect against all manner of attacks.

A robust IT security solution

Following a full on-site audit and analysis of their current IT set-up, we recommended upgrading the existing IT security and internal server hardware and software.
At every step, we worked closely with David Finch, Managing Director of Cephas Care. Moreover, we provided an IT security project plan that would give him, and his team peace-of-mind.

We put in place a best-of-breed hardware and software IT security solution. This included Trend Micro Worry-Free Services, HP ProLiant Server hardware, Microsoft Office 365, and a Unified Threat Management device.

“I cannot fault Agile; they were not pushy like some IT companies and only ensured we had what was required. We quickly built up a great working relationship with Gary who carried out all the onsite work. Whilst IT is often bottom of the list for many care companies, I would recommend you get Agile in to carry out an onsite audit you will be surprised how quickly they find ways your IT could be compromised and give you a solution to put it right.”

Improved IT security and productivity

We installed a new server running the latest Windows Server operating systems, and emails were migrated to the Microsoft Cloud.

Microsoft Teams was also introduced to enhance collaboration between all staff members, whether they are based internally or externally.

Today, Cephas Care continues to entrust Agile to proactively protect against potential IT threats. As a result, David can be confident he is doing everything in his power to safeguard the business and protect client data. He adds:

“I feel safe knowing our data and our critical functions are secure and protected. My advice to any care company is that time spent now could save you thousands in the long run if you were to ever become a victim of cybercrime.”
