Update on Yahoo Breach
Way back in 2013 Yahoo was subject to a data breach,
3 years later they said it affected 1 billion of it its 3 billion accounts, however in recent disclosure that took place last Tuesday it has emerged that all the accounts were compromised, yes 3 billion people’s data was stolen at the time of the attack, that’s almost half the planet!
The excuse Yahoo put across was this information only came to light after the recent integration with Verizon, with the help of “outside forensic experts”.
Yahoo since have taken various measures to ensure all customers are once again secure, by enforcing the changing of all passwords that hadn’t been changed since and invalidating all the unencrypted security answers.
This week they will begin alerting the users affected that hadn’t already been.
The compromised data compiled of Emails, passwords, birthdays, telephone numbers and more. Fortunately bank details were unaffected. Were you unfortunate enough to of been affected?
